Master Plan - Status of Chapters

The Bristol Planning Board reviews and updates the Town’s Master Plan every few years.  

Bristol’s Master Plan has six (6) chapters as follows:

• Vision - Adopted in 2022 
• Land Use - Adopted on June 25, 2025
• Downtown Improvement Plan – this chapter may be renamed Economic Development and encompass more than just the downtown area. 
• Population and Housing
• Conservation & Preservation of Natural Resources Section – may rename as Natural Resources Management - Work in Process by the Conservation Commission starting May 2025.
• Historic Resources Section– was last updated in 2018 and may need little work.
• Recreation Section – last survey referenced is 2005.  Our most recent survey was in 2018.  It is time to conduct another survey, that the Planning Board is working on.
