Annual Beach Permits

The Select Board has approved a new Beach Ordinance that becomes effective on January 1, 2024. Below are the new types of permits. 

Annual Beach Permits

Annual Beach Permits may only be sold to residents and taxpayers of the Town of Bristol and Town of Bristol Employees. Annual Beach Permits may be issued at the Town Office by the Town Clerk / Tax Collector’s Office or designee.  There are four (4) types of Beach Parking Permits that may be issued to residents or taxpayers:

  1. Standard Parking Permits - No more than two (2) Standard Parking Permits may be issued annually per household. A valid vehicle registration must be provided by the resident or taxpayer as proof of residency / ownership and the Standard Parking Permit fee is $10.00 per permit.
  2. Standard Parking Permit Combo – The Parking Permit Combo requires the purchase of one (1) Standard Parking Permit at $10.00 and then allows for a Transferrable Permit at $25.00. Transferable Parking Permits will list all vehicles covered by the Parking Permit and will be allowed to transfer to any vehicle approved on the list. However, only one (1) vehicle at a time will be allowed to use the Transferrable Parking Permit to park at the Beach. The permits are issued annually, limited to a household, and must provide valid vehicle registrations as proof of residency / ownership within the household.
  3. Trust Transferrable Parking Permit - Trust Transferrable Parking Permit may be sold to taxpayers annually owning Trusts, so all Trustees of the property have access to beach parking. These permits may only be issued by the Town Clerk / Tax Collector’s Office. Valid Trust paperwork, Trustee names and license plates, of all Trustees must be provided at the time of purchase. This Transferrable Permit will list all vehicles covered by the Parking Permit and will be allowed to transfer to any vehicle approved on the list. The permits are limited to two (2) per Trust and the Permit fee is $100.00. Only two (2) vehicles at a time will be allowed to use the Transferrable Parking Permits to park at the Beach.
  4. Guest Parking Permits - Guest and family members may obtain Guest Parking Permits for the length of time they are staying with the property owner. Guest Parking Permits may only be issued by the Town Clerk / Tax Collector’s Office. The property owner must verify the guest’s length of stay by submitting a verification form which may be obtained from the Town Clerk / Tax Collector’s Office. The Guest Parking Permit fee is $50.00 per week.

All Standard Annual Permits shall be affixed to the lower right side of the passenger side front windshield of the vehicle. All Transferrable Parking Permits, Trust Transferrable Parking Permits and Guest Parking Permits shall be placed on the passenger side dash of the vehicle when parked at the Beach.

Parking Permits shall be only valid for the vehicle for which they are issued.
