Halloween 2025

Get ready for a spooktacular fall season in Bristol! The Town invites the community to join in the Halloween Celebration on Friday, October 31st, with activities for all ages happening throughout town from 5:00–7:30 PM, and to take part in the Scarecrows in the Square decorating contest, running October 9–26.

Oct 31st - Halloween Event Highlights (5:00–7:30 PM):

Costume Parade – 4:45 PM | TD Bank Parking Lot - Show off your creativity in the annual costume parade! Participants of all ages are welcome to march in their best Halloween attire.

Trunk or Treat – 5:00–7:30 PM | Dead River Parking Lot - Families can visit decorated trunks and collect treats in a safe, fun environment. Registration is required. Applications are available online here.

The Witching Hour – 6:14 PM | Kelley Park - Watch as the local witches gather and perform a ritual dance in Kelley Park - a magical highlight for all ages.

Important Note:

North Main Street will be closed to all vehicle traffic from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

Scarecrows in the Square - Oct 9 – Oct 26

Show off your creativity by decorating a scarecrow to display in Central Square! Prizes will be awarded for:

  • 1st Place: $100 gift card to The Homestead Restaurant
  • 2nd Place: $75 gift card to The Homestead Restaurant
  • 3rd Place: $50 gift card to The Homestead Restaurant

Participation Requirement: To participate in the contest, you must complete an application, which is available here.

Entry Guidelines:

  • Scarecrows should be 4–6 feet tall and built on a sturdy frame.
  • Frames are available for purchase for just $5.00.
  • Entries may be set up starting October 9, 2025.

You may display your scarecrow:

  • On the Town Common in Central Square
  • In front of your home
  • Outside of your business

Scarecrows displayed in Central Square must include a weather proof ID tag with your name and contact information. Submit a photo of your scarecrow with the application. (Please wait until your scarecrow is on display in town before submitting.) To be eligible for prizes, your scarecrow must be set up, have an ID tag, and your entry form submitted by October 26, 2025. All scarecrows must be collected from Central Square by November 4, 2025.

The Events Committee will be in the Square to assist with scarecrow set-up:

  • Oct 9: 3:00–5:00 PM
  • Oct 26: 11:00 AM–1:00 PM

This family-friendly event is a long-standing Bristol tradition and a great way to celebrate the season with the community.
