Tax Rate is moving forward

The Select Board met last night (12/19/24) to review options for the Tax Rate. At this meeting, the Board voted to apply money from the Fund Balance to keep the Town portion of the Tax Rate lower. If they did not use the Fund Balance, then the Town's Tax Rate would have been an increase of $1.11.  

All of the information has been submitted to the Department of Revenue and the tentative tax rate is as follows: 

  • Town: $9.75 - $.22 increase
  • County: $1.82 - $.03 increase
  • Local School: $10.00 - $.57 increase
  • State Education: $2.05 - $.05 increase

Please note the only rate that the Town has any ability to adjust is the Town. All other numbers are set by the County, School and State.

Once the Department of Revenue has finalized the final numbers, there is a possibility that these numbers may change slightly. At this time, the proposed rate is an $.87 increase overall.
