On April 2nd, 2025, Police Chief Kristopher Bean notified town officials of an incident that occurred on March 31st, 2025, that involved his town issued equipment. Prior to notifying town officials, Chief Bean reported the incident to NH State Police.

The Town of Bristol takes this and all incidents regarding town employees and the safety of citizens of Bristol and the surrounding area with the utmost seriousness. Upon being notified, the Select Board requested a review to ensure that no Town or Department policy had been violated. The matter has also been referred to the NH Police Standard and Training Council and is being handled in accordance with New Hampshire state law.

Throughout the process, Chief Bean has provided his full cooperation, and the Bristol Select Board expresses its full support for Police Chief Kristopher Bean. The Town takes any potential threat to public safety very seriously and remains focused on moving forward together, maintaining a strong relationship between our Police Department and the community we serve.
